FAQs
At what age should my child start speech therapy?
Early intervention is often key, but it's never too late to seek services. If you have concerns about your child's communication at any age, an evaluation can provide valuable insights and inform a treatment plan if needed.
What does a typical speech therapy session look like?
Sessions are typically play or interest-based and tailored to your child's individual goals. We'll engage in activities that encourage communication and skill development in a fun and supportive environment.
How involved will I be as a parent?
Parent involvement is important. I believe in partnering with families, providing you with strategies and tools to support your child's progress at home.
Do you accept insurance?
Mindful Speech Therapy now accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield and private pay. We have a sliding scale option available. Of note: Speech-therapy is typically covered by HSA funds.
How long will my child need speech therapy?
The duration of therapy varies greatly depending on each child's individual needs and progress. We will regularly assess goals and adjust the plan as needed. The goal is to not need speech-therapy anymore!
What geographical area do you serve for in-home therapy?
I currently offer in-home services within and around Ann Arbor in addition to in-office services. Please contact me to confirm if your location is within my service area. Virtual sessions are available for families across Michigan.
